We partner with national and local charities whose purpose and values are similar to our own.

National charity partners

Our partnership with The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, helps young people gain the skills they need to succeed in life and the workplace. In 2019 we helped 2000 young people start their Duke of Edinburgh journey. These young people will contribute over 184,000 hours of volunteering to their local communities over the next three years.

Anthony Nolan is the charity that makes lifesaving connections between people with blood cancer and incredible strangers ready to donate their stem cells. For someone with blood cancer, a stem cell transplant could be their last chance of survival. In 2020 our partnership funded 238 families with much needed grants and 1513 life-saving stem cell courier journeys.

Trees for Cities is an independent environmental charity that inspires people to plant and love trees in cities worldwide. Involving local residents, schools and community groups, the charity's work is targeted towards some of the most deprived urban areas, from east London to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. In 2019 our partnership resulted in 2842 trees being planted across our communities.

Leadership Through Sport & Business is a social mobility charity that works with bright young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, ensuring they find skilled careers. In 2019 our partnership helped 99 young people take the first step in achieving meaningful employment.

The Foundation also supports other national charities in accordance with its grant making policy.

Local charity partners

Our local communities are major benefactors of our charitable giving. Through our match funding initiative we support local causes, from Lerwick in the north to Eastleigh in the South.
